Completed in 2004, Taipei 101 which is 509 meters tall, used to be the highest building in the world until Burj Khalifa in Dubai was built in 2010.

The observatory is located 439 meters above ground, which is taller than the observatory of United States’ tallest building, One World Trade Center’s (541m), One World Observatory which is 381 meters tall.

From the observatory room on the topmost floor, you can view the entire city of Taipei. The color looks different depending on the direction you are facing; the night view of central city is mainly white, whereas the night view of the suburban areas are mainly orange.

When I visited this observatory is February 2014, the ticket booth had a 20-minute cue, and a 40-minute cue to get on the elevator. Fast Pass tickets that lets you skip the elevator wait is useful at situations like this. You will be free from waiting in the elevator cue to climb up and come down.
