The Shard, which was built in 2013, is 310m high and there is an observatory at the 244m from the ground. Before the Shard has completed, there were no places enjoying panoramic night view from the high in London.
Though I have visited over 2,000 night view spots, this one definitely chosen top 20 with their beautiful scenery. What I would like to mention is the outdoor viewing platform on the 72nd floor. You can face great night skyscraper of London feeling wind on your cheek.
All tickets are timed every 30 minutes. I recommend you to purchase tickets before you visit there if you have time.
There are no toilets and where to seat at the observatory. There is only toilet near the ticket counter.
