Impressions

An observation point is located within a city called “Cetinje,” but because it has a low profile, I am going to introduce it as one of the night view spot in Kotor.

Mt. Lovcen has an average height of 1,749 meters. You can approach the mountain top by car, but the most beautiful night view can be see halfway up the hill.

The night view from an altitude of 877 meters, is overwhelming. Perhaps you can understand its’ large scale by looking at this first photograph; this was taken using a fixed focal lens with a focal length of 25mm, and composed 2 pictures together.

The observation point only has a stopping space, and no street lights. Not many cars pass by either, but it should be safe during twilight hours.

All the accessible roads are paved, but the roads are so narrow, and a winding road continues. I would not recommend driving, unless you are used to driving on mountain path, and have experience driving overseas at least several times.

When you are renting a car in Dubrovnik, please state that you are going to Montenegro. An additional fee will be charged, and you will need a document to present at the cross-border inspection.

It was around 1 PM when I was going through the cross-border inspection, and I it took me about an hour to be admitted into Montenegro. On the other hand, it only took about 5 minutes going back to Croatia from Montenegro, perhaps because it was around midnight. When you are going to Montenegro or coming back, you should allow enough time for inspection.

From Dubrovnik, it takes about 3 hours, and more than 2 hours to get to the World Heritage of Turkey. From central Turkey, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the night view spot, so please plan your allocation of time here as well.
